"A biologist, an engineer, and a mathematician are watching an empty house. Two people walk in and a while later, three people walk out. The biologist says: “They must have reproduced.” The engineer says: “Our assumptions must have been wrong.” The mathematician says: "If someone walks into the house, it will be empty again."

This joke is funny because it plays on the different ways that different professions think and approach problems. The biologist thinks in terms of biological processes, such as reproduction.
