කැඩුණු සුක්කානම (THE BROKEN STEERING WHEEL)

සිරකරුවෙකු හිස් මුඩු බිමක් හරහා මෝටර් රථයකින් පලා යයි.  සුක්කානම කැඩී ඇති බව හදිසියේම ඔහුට වැටහෙනවා: එය දකුණට හැරෙන්නේ නැත.  මෝටර් රථය ගමන් කළ හැක්කේ දිශාවන් දෙකකට පමණි: කෙළින්ම ඉදිරියට සහ වමට ය. ඔහු A ලක්ෂ්‍යයේ සිටින අතර, ඊතලය දෙසට ගමන් කරයි. තිත් රේඛාවෙන් පෙන්වා ඇති මායිම් කළ ප්‍රදේශයෙන් ඔබ්බට නොගොස් වැවේ අනෙක් පැත්තේ X හි ඔහුගේ සැඟවුණු ස්ථානයට ඔහු ධාවනය කරන්නේ කෙසේද? ඔහුට ආපසු හැරවීමට, මෝටර් රථයෙන් බැසීමට හෝ වැව තරණය කිරීමට නොහැක.

A prisoner escapes in a car through an empty barren land. Suddenly he realizes that the steering wheel is broken: it does not turn right. The car can only travel in two directions: straight ahead and left. He is at point A and is moving towards the arrow. How does he drive to his hiding place on X on the other side of the lake without going beyond the bounded area shown by the dotted line? He cannot turn around, get out of the car or cross the lake.
